TOPIC: Warhammer 40K - Imperium Maledictum Discussion

First a reminder. No game week 1 as I'm away with work. We'll start Week 2. I'm also not sure as yet but there is a chance I may have to miss another two weeks during the rotation for work also sorry (waiting on confirmation). However gives a chance for others to run something. I'll be around for all of October it'll be some time in November or early December.

We'll be running through the Starter Box Set. it's an intro adventure so good for us to learn together. It's a D100 system.

You will be a group of agents in the God Emperors Holy Inquisition under the employ of Inquisitor Aegidius Halikarn of the Ordo Hereticus. You'll have worked together before and will be working as investigators. So you're going to need to be taking notes to figure out what's going on.

There are some nice pre-gens with the boxset that people are welcome to use. However thought it'd be good to try character creation session 1 that includes things like choosing your origin planet type, your occupation before joining he inquisition and your "role" (class) on the team etc. You can either choose every step of the way or go full random which gets you bonus XP to start with or do a bit of both.

Quick summary of the roles in the Main book just so you can have a think:

Interlocutor - Uses his words. reads people
Mystic - Some kind of Psyker. every Psyker could be powerful or a liability. or both.
Penumbra - Stealthy type. assasins or scouts or similar
Savants - Experts and Scholars in a wide field.
Warrior - Bad guy fo Brrrr with gun
Zealot- The God-Emperor protects! and if you disagree you can have a theological debate with my chainsaw.

However they also recently released an Inquisituion players guide with some inquisition specific roles (and origin tables) that could be interesting to try...

Assassin - Think you can guess this one.
Cruciator - Experts of the body. Both healing it and applying just enough pressure to make people tell you what you want to know.
Explicator – Researchers and information specialists. Including in the forbidden fields the Inquisition may deal in.
Seeker - the hounds of the Inquisition Adept at finding things, people and the Alien.

Coincidentally there's a humble bundle going on with a load of Warhammer RPGs in including the IM book. There's nothing in there that should spoil us.
