“So you are Fenya and you come bringing treasures… and also the darkness. I sense you have lost something valuable… your closest friend. But you have also brought something valuable as well. Show me!”
Fenya opened her pack and drew out the glittering golden gauntlet. The old goblin shaman looked at it and Fenya could tell she saw more than just a lump of stylised gold.
“Interesting, but this is not the only thing you brought back?”
Fenya’s reply sounded bolder than she felt. She moved closer to the Shaman, and gazed into her eyes, the woman seemed to pierce her soul and for long moments she felt the darkness squirming within as if prodded and poked in some mystic manner.
“You will recover young one. The darkness has no permanent hold on you. You need rest and one of my potions. However, I am intrigued by your find. I assume others in your group are likewise afflicted?”
Fenya nodded and described the finds made by the lacklustre barbarian and the excitable changeling. At the Shaman’s prompting, Fenya told her tale and described her companions. Finally, the old Shaman raised a hand.
“Interesting I will join your comrades and see for myself this city in the swamp. Meanwhile you will rest and you need to find a new friend do you not. Stay here, you will manage my shop whilst I fulfil your commitment to the group. Woe unto you if my profits are down when I return!”
Fenya managed a single nod. The old shaman always made her nervous, and no one in the small Blackmoor community would think of stealing from her. Fenya wondered what price she would pay for the shaman’s help. If only the idiot Mage Bartolom had taught her his magic this would never have happened! Still the old woman had materials and the means to help summon another Boar. The thought of Kverula's fate caused a moment of upset, and tears formed breifly Fenya cringed slightly knowing the cost of it as she watched the old woman depart and go in search of her comrades. Fenya would have to find Kverula and give the creature grace, the thought sickened her. On the plus side the shaman was someone elses' problem for now.
Rattajack the Sly shuffled out of Blackmoor huddled in her cloak. The Goblin Shaman looked frail but was more than capable of protecting herself, the Evil Eye disposed of most, and those unwise enough to ignore that warning suffered the by Lickspittle.
She made her way to the Thistlehold gate, and, despite the lateness of the hour the gaurds opened it and she entered. She would find the Barbarian Kvarek and the Changeling Niha, and perhaps summon some additional help [Loomer] and (

might come if asked, both owed her a favour, and she was convinced that going back to this city in the swamp would need more than just two idiots with swords…
