Lets put this issue to bed before someone gets challenged to a duel.

Sarge mentioned creating new mods to manage the new recruitment process. Lets say there are three, as an example. One of those three mods unlocks the recruitment threads AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE on the chosen day. They then create a shoutbox post stating recruitment is open. No specific time, but three different people with the ability to do it.

Those three folk will have an advantage, re: signing up to the game they want, but it also means they'll be motivated to be the first to open them up, so everyone else can get in also.

This responsibility can be rotated if necessary.

Thoughts?

Can I be one of them so I get the game I want please. Or.. a gm unlocks the threads...thus negating any advantage.

This all looks like its getting very messy. People will have to apply to be in more than one game if they don't if know they will get into any of them for sure. So then you also have the problem of which game to "open" first. Do we have a max limit of attempts to play in a game, otherwise people might submit to be in all games. I think the best thing to do is launch Sant from the roof for opening this choice can of worms once more ;-)

Perhaps we need a random person picker. Perhaps we roll a dice? At the club.

Whilst there are a number of views being posited, one thing I'm definitely getting is a keenness to get things in order, which is a very positive thing.

Can I have a show of hands please as to who wants to be moderator, and we'll get that actioned

Common sense and fairness have to prevail, and I'm absolutely confident our new Mods will act in an entirely impartial way

It will probably make sense to lock this thread soon, but not to stifle any opinions, but to get on with trying the new rules and see if they work or need tweaking further
