The coronation club have issued the following message:

The government as from Saturday 8th August have added social clubs to the list in which face masks must be worn. To clarify face masks are being asked to be worn whilst entering and leaving or moving around the club. Once you have sanitized your hands and sat at your tables you are free to remove masks and enjoy your drinks and talk to those in your bubble. We are working to government guidelines thou they are sketchy in places. We are encouraging social distancing and still providing waiter service to avoid queuing at the bar. We feel the biggest cure to beat Covid-19 is common sense and everyone must do their part to wash hands, social distancing and stay alert. Thou things change now on a daily basis we will update as and when this happens. Thank you all again for your support and understanding in these difficult times. UPDATE on Entertainment is Equity have received notice that the government are to review live performances in November so it’s a waiting game I’m afraid.

The club must of course follow the guidelines, as a minimum. However removing masks while in the club in my opinion totally makes the other rules nonsensical. Personally I won't be returning until masks are worn at all times while indoors obviously not when you are supping your pint. There's nothing to stop the club having it's own requirements to this effect. Also it might be worth polling the membership as to identifying if numbers would increase if masks were made compulsory as above enabling a decision to be made.
